Justice Idris is the youngest among the newly recommended justices to the apex court. He was born on October 25, 1970 in Lavun, Niger state where he comes from. He attended Zarumai Primary School, Minna, (1975-1981) for his primary school and he attended Federal Government College, Minna, (1981-1986). He also attended Kings College, Lagos (1986-1987) after which he proceeded to Uthman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto (1987- 1992) where he got his LL.B. He was called to the bar in 1993 after attended the Nigerian Law School that same year. He was counsel in leading law firms in Nigeria including Chief Rotimi Williams Chambers and Fidelis Oditah & Co., and served as Head of the Legal and Chartering departments of Oando Supply & Trading Company Limited. He became a judge of the Federal High Court in 2008 and rose to become a justice of the appeal court in 2018.
